What is FP400

FP400 is a tough LSOH armoured cable with limited fire resistance ideally suited to power or control circuits in buildings. 

When choosing FP400 its rating for circuit design, installation and termination is just as other standard armoured cables plus no special tools or accessories are needed. FP400 is suitable for indoor and outdoor applications and may be installed using direct burial, trough, fixed direct, tray or ladder. 

Why do I need FP400?

Choose FP400 when continued power delivery during fire is required for non-essential building services. Witness tested to BS 7846 F2 and FP400 2 - 4 core, 1.5 - 6mm² inclusive, satisfies the requirements of fire test BS EN 50200 fire performance standards, ensuring that it can maintain circuit integrity for up to 120 minutes in the event of fire.

 

In addition, FP400 was specifically designed to meet the stringent standards set by the London Underground LUL - S1085 for fire safety performance of materials in stations and tunnel infrastructure. 

Where can FP400 be used?

FP400 is suitable for use in environments where fire performance, safety, and system reliability are critical. It is commonly used within underground metro and rail systems, hospitals, airports, and industrial facilities. Its robust construction also makes it well-suited for use in data centres and large commercial or public buildings, where high quality cables comprising fully traceable materials is vital.
