Sustainable metals
Metals play a significant role in our operations, and we are committed to sustainability by using copper with 30% recycled content. This approach is more sustainable because it reduces the demand for virgin materials, lowers energy consumption, and minimises environmental impact throughout the supply chain.
In 2024, all aluminium purchased for cable production was low-carbon. This is beneficial because low-carbon aluminum significantly reduces greenhouse gas emissions associated with its production. By sourcing aluminium made with renewable energy, Prysmian is able to lower its carbon footprint, support the transition to a greener economy, and contribute to global decarbonisation efforts.
