Early Careers Testimonials

Hear directly from our current and former apprentices, placement students and graduates as they share their early career experiences at Prysmian...

“Through my time in process engineering the exposure to the different machines and processes was brilliant, I learned a lot from the engineers that I was working with but also the operators on the machines. I’m still learning from everyone now.”

Kieran Griffiths

Manufacturing Improvement Manager

“My initial year at Prysmian has allowed me to explore various areas of the company through three valuable experiences in different sectors of the business. These sectors being R&D, Commercial and Process Engineering. As someone who actively wants to broaden their understanding and grow their areas of expertise, the chance to work at Prysmian was ideal to me.”

PETA’s Apprentice vs Dragons Contest

Prysmian’s very own Chief Financial Officer, James Sessions took part in PETA’s “Apprentice vs Dragons” contest. Alongside James was fellow dragons Penny Mordaunt, Portsmouth North MP, Kelly Sunderland, EU HR Director PEI Genesis, Tony Mason, Managing Director PALL Corporation and Huw Chapman, PETA CEO. The innovation contest involved 20 teams from 40 schools in Portsmouth. They were tasked with creating a concept design, production plan and business plan for a product that will solve one of life’s modern challenges. The winning team, ‘Watch your Step’ from Horndean Technology College, created an app that allowed you to track your carbon footprint to help people become more environmentally friendly.
"It was an important event for PETA as it gave the possibility to reconnect with local schools and colleges following the removal of covid restrictions. The event was equally important for Prysmian as we seek to increase the profile and promote the company within the region. Although it was a “Dragons Den” themed event the role of the Dragons was to use our questioning as an opportunity for the teams to shine rather than ruthlessly dissecting their business ideas. All presentations were of a high standard and I was surprised by the consistency of the presentations in that they all contained strong themes of sustainability, wellbeing and technology as a catalyst for innovation." James Sessions, Chief Financial Officer
