Apprenticeship Program

Apprenticeships at Prysmian are all about picking up skills for the workplace and embarking on a long and successful career. Our apprenticeships range from Level 3 to Level 6 and each pathway gives you everything you need to start your career in the industry!


You will get lots of exposure to set you up for a life long career. In addition to the day job there are plenty of opportunities to get involved in social activities and volunteering with other Apprentices, Students and Graduates.

Work Experience

We are always open to requests for work experience from students who are enthusiastic, curious and interested in developing their skill-set. Most placements would appeal to those aged between 14-19 years and would be one week long. Students would gain experience in departments such as; Design, Sales & Marketing, Maintenance, Purchasing, Research and Health & Safety. A typical week will include a tour of the site and safety induction, shadowing staff members and a hand-on task.

PETA’s Apprentice vs Dragons Contest

Prysmian’s very own Chief Financial Officer, James Sessions took part in PETA’s “Apprentice vs Dragons” contest. Alongside James was fellow dragons Penny Mordaunt, Portsmouth North MP, Kelly Sunderland, EU HR Director PEI Genesis, Tony Mason, Managing Director PALL Corporation and Huw Chapman, PETA CEO. The innovation contest involved 20 teams from 40 schools in Portsmouth. They were tasked with creating a concept design, production plan and business plan for a product that will solve one of life’s modern challenges. The winning team, ‘Watch your Step’ from Horndean Technology College, created an app that allowed you to track your carbon footprint to help people become more environmentally friendly.
