Prysmian to rise in the sustainability ranking
The Group has been assigned an overall score of 73/100 reaching the maximum level (Gold Recognition Level) in the 2019 EcoVadis CSR Assessment.
Within Sustainability Stakeholders Engagement activities, again in 2019 Prysmian participated to the EcoVadis survey, and received the EcoVadis evaluation result.
EcoVadis is an international platform used by many of our customers (amongst others, Deutsche Telekom, RFI, Schneider, Rexel, BT, Bombardier) to evaluate suppliers such as Prysmian Group and monitor sustainability in their global Supply Chain. The methodology is based on international Sustainable Development standards and covers 21 criteria across four themes (Environment, Labor and Human Rights, Ethics and Sustainable Procurement). Furthermore, the EcoVadis assessment results can be used to respond in a structured way also to the requests of other customers on the Group’s CSR performance.
Prysmian Group has been assigned an overall score of 73/100 (+3 points compared to 2017 evaluation), corresponding to a Gold Recognition Level, which is the result of the Prysmian Group “advanced” engagement, and of the many activities, policies and tangible actions that the Group has put in place in the main areas assessed.
Overall, the Group is positioned above the average of all companies assessed by EcoVadis in the same industry, and it is ranked in the TOP 1 % of companies assessed by EcoVadis in the Manufacture of wiring and wiring devices industry.
"The Ecovadis scoring reflects the improved and increased disclosure of the Group on CSR management, resulting in an above-average score for all areas. To be mentioned, the Prysmian Group’s comprehensive management system on Environmental issues, which deserved a score of 90/100. For the future, we aim at doing even better, so the Ecovadis recommendations for improvement will be used as an additional input towards the continuous improvement of our CSR performance," said Scola Ilaria, HSE Coordinator.
"EcoVadis’ ambition is to become the market standard in CSR supplier rating, by providing reliable and quantified CSR evaluations recognized at world level. This is why the Prysmian Group has been responding to the Ecovadis questionnaire not only to engage a positive communication with Customers, but has voluntarily chosen it as a tool to facilitate continuous improvement on sustainability themes, and as one of the indicators of the soundness, reliability and competitiveness of its CSR management," said Antonio Traversi, HSE & Real Estate Director.
