Prysmian cable products for UK Power Grids

Prysmian has been manufacturing power cables in the UK for over 100 years. The company has worked with the Transmission and Distribution Network Operators since the grid was established. We design and manufacture all cables for underground power distribution and transmission projects, from 1 kV to 600 kV. Low voltage (1 kV) cables are supplied direct to network operators or their appointed contractors. Datasheets on our standard 1 kV cables can be downloaded here.

Medium Voltage Products

Medium voltage cable (11 kV, 22 kV and 33 kV) are designed to suit the requirements of specific District Network Operators. For their appointed contractors planning a project, our engineers will ensure the correct cable design is specified even where the project crosses networks. We’ll also recommend the correct network components, including cable joints, terminations and fixings to ensure the products integrate correctly and effectively.

These cables are designed and manufactured to order in the UK at our Wrexham factory. We can manufacture ahead of delivery and hold stock to provide flexibility in call-off times, ensuring your project remains on track. All HV and EHV cable systems are designed to deliver the client rating. This means all 66 kV and 132 kV distribution system plus all 275 kV and 400 kV transmission systems are designed specifically for each project.
