Draka is a brand of Prysmian Group with the support, technology and environmental initiatives that it implies. We are proud to say that all cables, including fibre optic cores, are manufactured in the UK at out Washington plant or in Europe and are fully CPR compliant and also meet UK standards.

Prysmian Group is the market leader in optical core technologies, operating the largest singlemode fibre manufacturing facility in Europe at Douvrin in France, and manufacture what is accepted as the worlds best multimode fibre at Eindhoven in Holland.

Our sustainability strategy is making strides toward the optimization of the consumption of energy resources, while we monitor and actively work toward the reduction of the environmental impact of our manufacturing processes.

Prysmian Group is determined be one of the leading technology players in the transition to the use of renewable energy sources and is aiming for a 60% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions from global plants by 2030. In addition, the group invests 1 million euros a year in green initiatives.

Further to this, when it comes to packaging, Prysmian Group has begun an initiative to reduce the amount of unnecessary paper and plastic used in the packaging of its communications products. Supplying locally manufactured products also means that they do not have to travel far from the factory to site, which ultimately saves energy and reduces carbon emissions.
